Options to get to /from camp:

A: Take public transportation to Newark airport in time to take the Mosaic Shuttle to camp

To travel from JFK Airport to Newark Airport with the fewest transfers, take the JFK AirTrain to Jamaica Station, then the Long Island Rail Road (LIRR) to Penn Station (Manhattan), and finally, NJ Transit from Penn Station to Newark Airport. From the Newark Airport train station, you'll transfer to the AirTrain to reach your terminal.
Detailed Steps:

  1. JFK AirTrain to Jamaica Station - Begin by taking the AirTrain from your JFK terminal to the Jamaica Station
  2. LIRR to Penn Station (Manhattan) - At Jamaica Station, transfer to the Long Island Rail Road (LIRR) and take a train heading towards Penn Station in Manhattan
  3. NJ Transit to Newark Airport -From Penn Station, board an NJ Transit train on the Northeast Corridor Line or North Jersey Coast Line towards Newark Airport
  4. Newark Airport Station to Terminal - At Newark Airport Station, transfer to the AirTrain to reach your specific terminal at Newark Airport.
  5. Travel to Terminal A to meetup with the Mosaic Shuttle.
  6. The advantage over the bus to Milford is the shuttle goes directly to camp and provides a social opportunity to meet people prior to the arrival to camp.

Important Notes:

    • Both AirTrains operate frequently and have less than a 10-minute wait time.
    • The trip from JFK to Newark Airport, including transfers, typically takes around 1 hour 20 minutes to 1 hour 40 minutes.
    • Be sure to check for any potential delays on the LIRR or NJ Transit websites before your journey.
    • Consider purchasing a MetroCard for the LIRR and NJ Transit for easy payment.
    • If you have a lot of luggage, a taxi or shuttle service might be a more convenient option, although it will be more expensive.

B: Take public Transportation from JFK Aiport to Millford, PA then a taxi/uber to camp

Unfortunately, there's no direct public transportation route from JFK Airport to Milford, PA. You will need to make transfers. Here's the route with the fewest transfers using public transport, which involves a combination of AirTrain, LIRR train, and bus:

  1. JFK AirTrain: From your terminal at JFK, take the AirTrain to Jamaica Station.
  2. LIRR Train: At Jamaica Station, transfer to a Long Island Rail Road (LIRR) train bound for Penn Station in New York City.
  3. Bus from Port Authority: Once at Penn Station, walk to the Port Authority Bus Terminal. From there, you can catch a bus going towards Milford, PA.
  4. Go to Bus options on this page for more details about the bus from Port Authority to Camp.

Important Notes:

    • Cost: The subway and bus combination is estimated to cost between $34 and $51.
    • Alternatives: If you're open to other options, consider driving, which is significantly faster (around 1 hour 49 minutes) and potentially cheaper (costs $14-$21).
